Christmas is family, food and love
If someone asked me what Christmas means to you, I would answer in three words: family, food, love. I would say family, because every time it is Christmas we gather in a family house and meet all the members of the family, starting with the farthest aunt and ending with our parents. I would say food, because every time we gather in a house the moment we sit around the table is the moment when we are all hungry and we congratulate the housewife for the wonderful smells that come out from the oven. Finally, I would say love because Christmas is one of the few times you always hear wishes. Either they call you, because they call you Vassilis and they call you for "Happy Nameday", or the new year comes and they call you to wish you "happy new year", or it is New Year Eve or Christmas Eve and your bell rings a group of children enters your house and sings your carols and wishes you "This house we came will live 1000 years"! Christmas is my favorite time, because in only two weeks these three words can be combined! And I certainly can not miss that the decoration of the Christmas tree and the cooking of melomakarona and kourabiedes are the last magical details! The day after tomorrow is December. Gal's Bites sends you its first wishes: "Merry Christmas!" 🎄🎄
Last but not least, a lot of you, have asked me for melomakarona recipe. Trust me a healthy recipe will be posted within the week!
